Hand of God... Oh no wait, not god!

Republic of Ireland missed out on getting to the World Cup last night. As an Englishmen it shouldn't really bother me, their not even British, but it has.

Going into the game many thought Ireland could win when in previous times against France it would of being an obvious result (France winning easily).

However after the first leg it actually seemed like Ireland could do it. This made me want to watch the game to measure up our (England's) chances against France. On paper it was a no contest but France seemed to turn up wanting a casual kick around, the Stade de France being their park. As for Ireland they were going into the game as if their lives were on the line and they would quite happily die for their country in battle.

The world would end if we were all this brilliant at being oblivous

Do indicators come as an optional extra on cars? Is there any point in lanes on traffic lights and roundabouts? I really don’t know anymore.

To address my first point I don’t really think indicators come as optional extras on cars. Although when it comes to the elderly and driving it really does seem like they might as well. I just can’t understand it, we’re supposed to judge where they’re going right? Of course!

God save our gracious Queen... and our fingernails!

What is it with us lot leaving it late? Can we not just win something with ease, for once, please?

This year, new Formula 1 team Brawn Mercedes surprisingly chose Jensen Button to drive for them. Winning 6 races out of 7, it looked to be a stroke of brilliance by the new boys.

However British traditions came along to shift events into a different gear. Button began to drop places throughout the next few races but still remained in the points. Dawdling across the finish line he actually managed to secure the championship with one whole race left. Unbelievable! A Brit put us at ease before an event even finished. Even if it was down to the destruction derby that took place on the first lap… We are British and we take whatever we get; however we get it, yes?
